Stain Removal Tips

  • Before treating a carpet stain, always test for colorfastness on a hidden area of the carpet. To determine the colorfastness of any carpet -especially with reds or blues - take a clean, moist towel and gently rub a small area in an inconspicuous area. If color comes off on the towel, you should discontinue use.
  • Gently scrape up solids with a spoon. Anything with a sharp edge (like a knife) may damage the carpet. Then vacuum remaining debris.
  • Blot up excess liquids with a paper towel or clean cloth.
  • Never rub stains, as this may worsen the stain. With all home remedies, use a gentle patting motion from the outer edges to the center of the stain.
