What is the story and technology behind the Genius mop head?
The Shark® Genius mop head incorporates many innovative features to make cleaning your home easier than ever before. Shark’s Touch-Free Technology means there’s no more wringing out mops or wrestling with dirty pads. Quickly attach a Dirt Grip pad and start mopping in seconds. When you are done, just pinch the pad release button and the used pad falls away automatically — you’ll never have to touch a dirty pad again.

You’ll get extra-targeted steam power with our Steam Blaster technology. Just flip the Genius mop head over and tilt the handle back to activate the Steam Blaster for a powerful burst of targeted steam. The Steam Blaster attacks tough, stuck-on messes, and easily loosens debris from grout lines, crevices, and corners.

Product Specifications

My floors are spotty/streaky after steaming.
If you use chemicals to clean your floor, pre-clean the floor with a 5% vinegar solution, then check to see if any streaking/spotting remains. If you do not use chemicals to clean your floor, check for a dripping/dirty Dirt Grip pad and change pads if needed. Note: Do not pour vinegar or any chemical cleaning solution into the water tank.

My Genius Mop is difficult to push.
The Genius Mop glides best on hard floor surfaces when steam is produced. If there is steam output, check that your Dirt Grip pad fits correctly on the mop head. If the pad is attached properly, ensure that your mop has been on for at least 3 minutes. If not, the pad may need more time to saturate. Leave the mop on for at least 3 minutes and check to see if it is still difficult to push.
