How do I charge my battery and how long does it take to charge?
You can charge your battery by using a Shark® charger along with accessories such as the charging dock and wall mount. Please note that only Shark® chargers should be used to charge your vacuum's battery. Consult your instruction book for approved models.

Your battery should take approximately 3.5 hours to reach a full charge.

How long will my battery run and will I ever need to replace it?
Like all lithium-ion products, your battery will naturally decrease in capacity over time from the 100% capacity of a new battery.

These runtimes are based on 100% capacity:
  • Hand vacuum only in ION POWER mode: approximately 11 minutes
  • Hand vacuum only in ION BOOST mode: approx. 23 minutes
  • Floor mode in ION POWER: approx. 12 minutes
  • Floor mode in ION BOOST: approx. 20 minutes
  • Carpet mode in ION POWER: approx. 11 minutes
  • Carpet mode in ION BOOST: approx. 14 minutes

When and how do I clean the filters?
Filters may need to be cleaned if the vacuum stops picking up dirt, if airflow is restricted, or if you notice lighter or no suction. For optimal performance, clean filters regularly. Between cleanings, lightly tap filters over a trash receptacle to remove dust and debris as needed.

Rinse the pre-motor foam and felt filters every 3 months, or as needed.
  • First, remove the dust cup to access the pre-motor filters.
  • Slide up the release latches on both sides of the dust cup handle. Lift the dust cup up and away from the pod.
  • Remove the foam and felt filters.
  • Rinse both filters with water only.
  • Allow filters to air-dry completely (at least 24 hours) before reinstalling.
  • Once dry, install the felt filter first, followed by the foam filter.
  • Reinstall the dust cup by placing the bottom of the dust cup into the pod and then tilting until it clicks into place.


Rinse the post-motor HEPA filter every 12 months, or as needed.
  • Pull the latch under the handle and lift off the cover.
  • Remove the felt filter.
  • Rinse with water only.
  • Allow filter to air-dry completely (at least 24 hours) before reinstalling.
  • Once dry, reinstall the HEPA filter.
  • Reattach the HEPA filter cover until it clicks into place.

When and how do I empty the dust cup?
For optimal performance, empty the dust cup each time you vacuum, or when debris reaches the MAX FILL line.

  • Slide up the release latches on both sides of the dust cup handle. Lift the dust cup up and away from the pod.
  • Hold the dust cup over the trash and press the bottom door release button on the front.
  • Tap gently to empty contents.
  • Close the dust cup door, pressing it until it clicks into place.
  • If needed, turn the dust cup upside down over the trash and press the top door release button.
  • Tap gently to remove contents. Clear debris from the cone-shaped screen.
  • Wipe the interior of the dust cup clean.
  • To reinstall, place bottom of dust cup into the pod and then tilt until it clicks into place.

How do I remove and clean the soft brushroll?
  • Slide up the Eject Roller button on the floor nozzle and the soft brushroll will pop out.
  • Remove any hair or fiber build up from behind the roller housing.
  • Remove any hair or debris from the soft brushroll.
  • If needed, wash the soft brushroll using water only. Air-dry completely for at least 24 hours.
  • Once dry, reinstall by inserting the right end into the roller housing first, then pressing until it clicks into place.


Note: Do not put brushrolls in the dishwasher or washing machine. Do not vacuum wet messes.

How do I access and clean the bristle brushroll?
  • To remove the brushroll garage lid, push both Brushroll Access buttons on the floor nozzle.
  • Lift out the brushroll by the pull tab on the left.
  • Use scissors to carefully remove any string, hair or debris that may be wrapped around the brushroll.
  • To reinstall the brushroll, first insert the end without the pull tab, then the other end.
  • Close the brushroll garage lid completely by pressing down firmly on all sides.


Note: Do not put brushrolls in the dishwasher or washing machine. Do not vacuum wet messes.
