Why isn't my Shark IQ Robot going on its scheduled cleanings?
  1. Check the app to verify the scheduling feature is turned on. Select "Schedule" from the menu in the top left corner of your home screen.
  2. Ensure your time zone is set correctly in your device settings.
  3. Make sure your Shark® robot is fully charged.
    • Verify that the dock/Self-Empty Base is connected to power and the green light on the side of the dock or Self-Empty Base is illuminated. If the green light is not on, try plugging the base into a different outlet.
    • If there is a green light on the side of the dock or Self-Empty Base and your robot still is not charging, verify that power switch on the robot is on. Press the power switch on the side of the robot to position I to turn on the power.
Why isn't my Shark IQ Robot™ going on its scheduled cleanings?
  • Note: the indicator light on the side of the base will turn from green to blue once the robot is properly charging. It may take up to 5 seconds after contact is made with the base for the light to change, so if you are adjusting the position of the robot on the base, wait 5 seconds between adjustments.

NOTE: If you have the Recharge & Resume feature enabled it may interfere with a set schedule. If Recharge & Resume is enabled and your robot has not finished its cleaning, it will dock to recharge, then can resume cleaning where it last left off once it has fully recharged. If it returns to the dock after completing a recharge and resume cycle and is scheduled to run shortly thereafter, the robot may not have enough battery life to clean on its set schedule.

How long will it take my Shark IQ Robot to generate an interactive map?
It may take several cleanings for the robot to finish building an interactive map. Make sure your Shark robot is fully charged (it may take 4-6 hours to reach a full charge) before sending it out to clean. You must also allow the robot to return to its dock or Self-Empty Base on its own.

NOTE: Avoid picking up or moving the robot or the dock/Self-Empty Base. If either are relocated, the robot may not be able to generate a map or find its way back to the base.

Why doesn't my interactive map look like my home?
The layout of the map may appear slightly different from the actual layout of your home, as the map will not include any furniture that the robot cannot fit under. Your Shark IQ Robot will also continuously improve its map over time. If your map looks different from the layout of your home, keep running the robot regularly and the quality of the map will improve. In larger homes, we recommend turning on the Recharge & Resume feature to ensure the robot can cover all areas of your home. In rare cases, the area your robot is trying to map may also be too large for the robot's memory.

If this issue persists:
  1. Delete the existing map and re-map your home (close doors to areas you do not want the robot to clean to save memory for the map). To delete the map:
    • Select "Settings" from the menu in the top left corner of your home screen --> select your robot --> select "Map Data" --> select "Delete Map Data"
  2. Section your map into smaller rooms and then direct the robot to clean those specific rooms.

Why is my Shark IQ Robot not generating a cleaning report?
If your robot loses its position within its map, it may not be able to produce a cleaning report. Avoid picking up or moving the robot or the dock/Self-Empty Base. If either are relocated, the robot may not be able to follow its intelligent cleaning path, or find its way back to the dock/Self-Empty Base. If the robot is picked up or moved for any reason, it should be returned to within 6 inches of its last location. If the dock or Self-Empty Base is moved, you will need to delete the map in the app and re-map your home. To delete the map:

  1. Select "Settings" from the menu in the top left corner of your home screen.
  2. Select your robot.
  3. Select "Map Data".
  4. Select "Delete Map Data".

Why isn't my robot cleaning the room I selected?
If your robot loses its position within its map, it may not be able to locate the room you have selected.
